These days, coco coir is of a far higher quality than the products that were around a few years ago. Coco coir is derived from coconut shell fibre and is an entirely natural product, sometimes referred to as coco peat. It supports biological (bio) gardening and most of these peats already contain the friendly trichoderma fungi. Many use it as an alternative to soil. However, it drains much more freely than soil and can be used in many hydroponic systems. Use with a quality coco-specific feed and enjoy the best of both worlds! Find out more in our Blog about Coco Coir Here. Most coco coir peats have and encourage friendly microbial activity in the root-zone. This increases yield and root health. For a flourishing microherd we highly recommend using Ecothrive Neutralise (to avoid chlorine or chloramine in tap water from inhibiting, or even killing, the friendly microbes). Plus, use a quality beneficial inoculant such as Ecothrive Biosys with organic grows. For an extra kick, try Ecothrive Charge too!
