Military-Grade Dehumidifiers that Help to Maintain a Perfect Environment, Accelerating Growth Rates and Eliminating Mildew and Rot

High humidity can destroy entire crops by slowing down growth rates and encouraging mould and mildew. Quest dehumidifiers solve this issue by sucking enormous volumes of water from the air reliably and effectively, whenever they're needed. They're built to specifications that make them a favourite in numerous industries and government organisations, including the military. Quest dehumidifiers are even trusted for use onboard naval destroyers! Buy one of these pieces of kit and rest assured that you've chosen wisely.

How Quest Overhead Dehumidifiers Works

Getting your environmental parameters within optimal ranges is the key to successful growing. Relative humidity plays a huge role in dictating the growth rates of your plants. When humidity levels are too low, the rate of transpiration increases, causing the plant to lose too much water. Likewise, when humidity levels are too high, growth rates slow down dramatically, and the door is also opened up to an array of moisture-related issues, like powdery mildew and botrytis (rot). As plants reach their later stages, they can put a lot of water vapour into the surrounding atmosphere, and if humidity levels in the room are still too high, then you're going to need some extra help...

Quest overhead dehumidifiers come with a length of pipe and a connector which needs to be attached to the water outlet point. Just put the other end of the pipe wherever you want to send the water, whether it be to your tank or down the drain.

Options are available with or without the GHC VPD Controller, which is capable of regulating dehumidifiers according to vapour pressure deficit levels. VPD provides a much clearer insight into the factors that affect plants' transpiration rates. Getting VPD in the sweet spot will make a big difference to the size and quality of your crop, so the extra controller makes a sensible investment. For more information on VPD, check out the following blog.

If you're looking to control multiple pieces of equipment from the same place then check out the Dimlux Maxi Controller and the G.A.S. Enviro Controller. Don't forget that, if you do decide to use it with a Maxi Controller, you'll also need the separately available humidity probe and Aux Box unit.

How to Spec an Overhead Dehumidifier

Which size dehumidifier do I need? A good rule of thumb is to make sure that your dehumidifier should be able to remove enough water to account for the water that you give to your plants. If you're giving them 100 litres per day, then make sure that your dehumidifier is able to cope with at least 75% of that volume of water, or 75 litres.
