To get a feel for the FloraMax range, you need to be aware of the credentials of the team behind it, which includes some of the most knowledgeable players in the industry, with decades of experience as analytical chemists. Back in 1966, they started out as specialists in water chemistry, and in 1992 turned their hand to plant-specific nutrients. FloraMax is the product of decades of research and development, including countless trials and side-by-side tests, and it incorporates feedback from some of the largest commercial growers on the planet. FloraMax has been formulated to meet the demands of the big guys, who operate at a scale where tiny percentage gains make huge differences.
It has also been designed to be as easy to use as possible. The core range consists of just a handful of products: a one-part or two-part base nutrient, a potent root booster and a trio of bloom boosters that work symbiotically to get the best out of plants in flower.
OrganaBud is a refined kelp extract that’s loaded with powerful hormones and stimulants, like auxins and cytokinins. They work to boost growth rates in both the rootzone and the top half of the plant.
Flowering Enhancer combines three products in one bottle: a PK booster, a cal-mag supplement (with extra iron) and a pH stabiliser. This combination increases flowering sites and causes fruits to swell up like balloons.
Resin-XS contains an array of organic compounds that essential oil production. This makes fruits look more attractive, while improving terpene profiles, for enhanced flavours and aromas. Note that boosting oils also adds to the final weight.
Root-XS acts as an all-round root booster, promoting new root growth in veg and maintaining root health during flower.
FloraMax products are formulated with a blend of mineral and organic ingredients. The minerals sourced are of the very highest quality; the organic components differ from those found in other nutrient brands, in that they utilise something that FloraMax term ‘revolutionary organic compounds’. FloraMax take the most potent plant-enhancing organic compounds and refine them down to their purest forms, increasing their availability. This gives you the benefits of organics but without the drawbacks. Regular organic feeds are generally not well suited to active grow systems. Revolutionary organic compounds, however, are ideal. They’re more stable, with fewer pH fluctuations and they don’t degrade in the same way – they can sit in your tank for prolonged periods of time without deteriorating. Because the plant compounds are isolated, they run much ‘cleaner’, and won’t cause blockages in your system. This makes FloraMax perform brilliantly even in systems that use very narrow pipe diameters, like drippers.
One of the other benefits of using such clean ingredients is that the shelf life of the range is considerably longer than many other brands. Most products last for at least three to five years and some products in the range can even last for up to ten years!
