How the Ozone Angel 0.25 Works:

The Ozone Angel is used to treat unwanted smells as they travel through your extraction system and leave the grow area. Most smells will be removed by the carbon filter in your extraction kit, but for growers with larger set-ups, it may be advisable to use an ozone generator as a secondary odour control system. Unlike many other types of ozone generator, which need to be mounted inside ducting (in-duct), the Ozone Angel is mounted externally. Ozone gas is generated by the unit using oxygen from the surrounding air; it then travels through a length of airline tubing and is injected into ducting through a small hole.

Ozone (O3) is effectively oxygen in a very volatile form. The more oxygen that is present around the generator, the more efficient the ozone output will be. Moisture also effects ozone generators – keeping relative humidity levels low is very important.

Internally mounted ozone generators are limited to using the air that leaves your grow area to produce ozone, and this air is often less than ideal. Because the Ozone Angel can be positioned up to 25 metres away from your ducting entry point, you have the option to draw air from an area with much, much better properties (low temps and plenty of oxygen).

With less exposure to moisture and particulates, the Ozone Angel will also last longer than internally mounted (in-duct) ozone generators.

Using the Ozone Angel 0.25:

Ozone should not be inhaled and is potentially dangerous if not used cautiously and responsibly – a COSHH safety data sheet is included, detailing appropriate use and potential hazards. Please read the supplied instruction manual and the safety sheet very carefully before setting up the system for the first time.

The first thing you’ll need to consider is where you’re going to put the unit. Ideally, it should sit in an area with plenty of fresh air and a low relative humidity levels. Keep it (at least) level in height with the point that you wish to inject the ozone. This will help to prevent potential build-ups of (very dilute) nitric acid that can otherwise occur in the airline tubing.

Fit the supplied airline tubing around the outlet point on the front of the unit.

Choose the point in the ducting of your extraction system that you wish to inject ozone. Follow the diagrams in the manual to install the plastic injector fittings in the ducting (slightly different to the method displayed in the image above).

Connect the airline tubing running from your ozone generator to the injector fittings. When you turn the unit on, ozone will then be pumped from the unit and into your ducting.

The Ozone Angel’s air inlet point (at the back of the unit) has an adapter that enables it to be used with 4mm (internal diameter) airline tubing. If necessary, you can draw suitable air from further afield using a separate air pump.

Always ensure that airflow is never obstructed – avoid sharp bends in your airline tubing.
