Complete Grow Room Extraction Without the Guesswork – Twin-Speed Fan, Matched Carbon Filter & Ducting
The Mammoth TT Fan & Filter Extraction Kit gives you everything you need to remove hot, humid and stale air from your grow room while filtering odours before they're exhausted outside.
At the heart of every kit is the Mammoth TT Twin Speed Inline Fan – a proven, budget-friendly extractor with two built-in speed settings, plug-and-play operation and strong airflow for the money.
For the carbon filter, you can choose between a Mammoth Carbon Filter or a Rhino Hobby Carbon Filter.
Whichever filter you choose, the kit also includes 5 metres of black combi ducting and three duct clips, giving you a complete grow tent ventilation setup without having to work out which sizes fit together.
Key Benefits
- Complete grow room extraction kit – fan, matched carbon filter, 5m ducting and duct clips included.
- Twin-speed extraction – two built-in airflow settings give you useful control without needing a separate fan controller.
- Plug-and-play setup – Mammoth TT fans arrive ready to use with no additional wiring required.
- Controls heat and humidity – removes warm, moisture-heavy air before it builds up around your plants.
- Helps replenish fresh air – extracting stale air encourages fresh air to enter the growing space.
- Effective odour filtration – both filter options use high-quality activated carbon to clean outgoing air.
- Choose your filter – go for the recommended Mammoth Carbon Filter or select a Rhino Hobby alternative.
- Available from 4" to 12" – covers everything from smaller grow tents to large grow rooms.
- Excellent value – one of the easiest ways to build a complete fan and filter system without overspending.
Why You Need a Proper Grow Room Extraction Kit
Good grow tent ventilation does more than simply move air out of the room.
Plants, grow lights and other electrical equipment all contribute to heat and humidity. Without extraction, that warm, moisture-heavy air can build up quickly, making temperature and humidity much harder to control.
The Mammoth TT removes stale air from the growing space while the carbon filter scrubs odours from the air before it leaves the room.
At the same time, extracting air creates negative pressure inside the grow tent, encouraging fresh replacement air to enter through your passive or active intake.
That makes a correctly sized inline fan and carbon filter kit one of the most important parts of any indoor growing setup.
Mammoth TT Twin Speed Inline Fan
The Mammoth TT Twin Speed Fan is one of the easiest ways to get reliable extraction without jumping straight into a more expensive EC fan and controller setup.
Each fan has two selectable speeds, allowing you to reduce airflow when conditions are cooler or increase extraction when temperature and humidity begin to rise.
The TT range is also plug-and-play, so there is no need to wire a separate mains lead before you can use it.
For growers looking for a simple, affordable grow tent extractor fan that provides useful airflow control straight out of the box, the TT remains one of the strongest options at this price point.
Choose Your Carbon Filter
We've built this extraction kit with two carbon filter options, so you can choose the one that best suits your setup.
Mammoth Carbon Filter – Our Recommended Option
The Mammoth Carbon Filter is the version we'd choose for most setups.
It uses premium RC412 virgin activated carbon inside a lightweight aluminium body, with a deep carbon bed designed to provide effective odour filtration without unnecessarily restricting the TT fan.
The Mammoth filters are matched to the maximum airflow of each fan size, giving you plenty of filtration capacity while keeping resistance through the system under control.
A removable pre-filter sleeve catches larger dust particles before they reach the carbon bed, helping maintain airflow and extend the working life of the filter.
Rhino Hobby Carbon Filter – Reliable Alternative
The Rhino Hobby Carbon Filter gives you another proven option and is particularly useful when the matching Mammoth filter is unavailable.
Rhino Hobby filters also use Australian RC412 activated carbon and include a washable dust sleeve, but contain less carbon than longer-life premium filters.
They have an expected working life of around 9–12 months when maintained correctly.
The duct-coupler and base are reversible and should be swapped every 8–12 weeks. This evens out wear through the carbon bed and helps the filter reach its expected lifespan.
It's a good-value option if you want genuine Rhino filtration while keeping the initial cost of your extraction setup down.
Our Take
When we're putting together straightforward, budget-conscious extraction setups, the Mammoth TT is exactly the sort of fan we look at first. It doesn't overcomplicate things: you get two useful speeds, plenty of airflow for the money and everything is ready to plug in and run.
For the filter, we'd stick with the Mammoth version wherever possible. It's a really good match for the TT range and gives you more filter capacity and a longer-term setup without pushing the kit price too far.
The Rhino Hobby option is still useful though. If the Mammoth filter you need is out of stock, you don't have to change the rest of your extraction system – choose the correctly matched Rhino Hobby filter and you can keep the same fan size, ducting and installation.

How to Set Up the Mammoth TT Extraction Kit
- Hang the carbon filter high in the grow space: Warm, humid air naturally rises, so mounting the filter near the top of the tent helps remove it efficiently.
- Connect the filter to the fan: Cut a short section from the supplied ducting and connect the carbon filter to the intake side of the TT fan using two duct clips.
- Connect the exhaust ducting: Fit the remaining ducting to the outlet side of the fan and secure it with the third duct clip.
- Route the ducting outside the grow area: Keep the run as short and straight as possible.
- Select your fan speed: Choose the lower or higher TT setting according to the airflow your room requires.
- Check negative pressure: With extraction running, the sides of a correctly sealed grow tent should pull in slightly, showing that air is being drawn through the space.
Avoid unnecessary sharp bends or compressed sections of ducting, as these increase resistance and reduce the amount of air the fan can move.
How to Choose the Right Size
As a basic starting point, calculate the volume of your grow room:
Length x Width x Height = Room Volume in m³
For a typical indoor grow room, we recommend aiming to replace the air approximately once per minute:
Room Volume x 60 = Minimum Airflow per Hour
Then allow approximately 20% extra capacity to account for resistance from the carbon filter and ducting:
Required Airflow x 1.2 = Recommended Extraction Capacity
For example, a 1.2m x 1.2m x 2m tent has a volume of 2.88m³:
2.88 x 60 = 172.8m³/h
172.8 x 1.2 = approx. 207m³/h
That gives you a useful starting point, but remember that high-powered lighting, hot ambient rooms, long ducting runs and multiple bends may require additional extraction capacity.

Top Tip: If both filter options are available, we'd choose the Mammoth Carbon Filter for the best overall match with the TT fan. Whichever version you go for, keep your ducting short and avoid tight bends – every restriction adds resistance and reduces the airflow that actually reaches your grow room.
