How the Hailea ACO Super Silent Air Pumps work:
The Hailea ACO Super Silent Air Pumps are high-quality, high-output air pumps for driving air through air line tubing and into numerous submerged airstones. As the pump takes air in, an oscillating diaphragm pushes it through the outlet point on the front. This outlet point has an outer diameter of 13mm, so that it can be connected directly to 13mm (internal diameter) pipe.
Also included is a rubber reducer, which facilitates the connection of the included 6-way or 10 way manifold, allowing the fitting of six or ten x 4mm (inner diameter) airlines. The air-pressure produced is immense, steady and consistent. The entering air passes through a multi-level muffler to keep noise to a minimum and the special rubber feet on the unit are designed to absorb a considerable amount of the vibration. Very little noise is produced at all, especially for a pump that maintains as much air pressure as the Hailea ACO Super Silent Air Pump range does and with power consumption very low at only 25 or 35 watts.
How to use the Hailea ACO Super Silent Air Pump:
Place your air pump close to your reservoir on a flat, firm surface which is above the water level of the reservoir that you wish to aerate. Connect the rubber reducer to the 13mm output and connect the plastic manifold to the reducer. Connect your 6 or 10 air lines onto the output nozzles, sliding them over the ridges until they are held on firmly. If it is difficult to push the air lines on, softening the end of the air-line in warm water may make the job a lot easier. Fit your chosen airstones onto the other end of the air lines and place them into the reservoirs. It is best to try to keep the air lines as short as possible because the air pressure will be reduced the longer they are. Plug the air pump into a mains outlet socket and switch it on. The air pump will now pull air in and push it out through the nozzles, down the air lines and out through the airstones.
Always place your air pump at a height above the level of the water-line in the reservoir. If your air pump is at a height lower than the water-line and there is an unexpected power-cut or trip-out, water from the reservoir can siphon back from the reservoir into the air pump which will almost certainly cause it damage. We recommend the use of a check-valve (one-way or non-return valve) in the air-line as well to make doubly sure that back-siphoning cannot occur.
