AUTOPOT Tray2Grow Seed Tray – Designed for Capillary-Fed Propagation

The AutoPot Tray2Grow Seed Tray is purpose-built to work seamlessly with the Tray2Grow System, making it ideal for propagation, early veg, and uniform seedling development. Its perforated base allows water and nutrient solution to be drawn up from below, delivering consistent moisture without over-saturating young roots.

Designed specifically for use in the Tray2Grow capillary matting configuration, this tray helps create a stable, evenly fed environment for seedlings and cuttings, reducing manual watering and improving early-stage consistency.

How It Works with Tray2Grow

When used in the capillary matting configuration, the Tray2Grow system supplies water and nutrients from beneath the tray rather than from above. This encourages healthier root development and reduces the risk of overwatering.

A large rectangular capillary mat (not included) is laid into the base of the Tray2Grow tray and tucked into the channels. A root control sheet (not included) is then placed over the mat to prevent roots growing into the matting.

The Tray2Grow Seed Trays sit on top of this setup. Moisture and nutrients are drawn upward through the capillary mat and pass through the holes in the base of each seed tray, feeding the growing medium evenly from below.

The Tray2Grow system can accommodate up to four Tray2Grow Seed Trays at once, making it ideal for batch propagation, microgreens, or uniform seedling production in limited space.

How to Use the Tray2Grow Seed Tray

1. Prepare the Tray2Grow base; fit capillary matting and tuck into channels
2. Add a root control sheet; place over the matting
3. Position seed trays; place up to four trays on top
4. Fill with growing media; add seeds or cuttings
5. Connect your Tray2Grow system; allow the AQUAvalve to regulate feeding automatically

Top Tip: Always use a root control sheet when running capillary matting to prevent roots growing into the mat and disrupting water flow.
