Large quantities (up to half a drumful at a time) of dry product can be processed in just twenty minutes.

  • Works with the standard size Triminator Dry
  • Replaces the trimming drum with a 150 micron mesh screen drum
  • Can process ½ to ¾ of a drumful of dried leaves at a time
  • Each batch takes just twenty minutes (ten for chilling and ten for tumbling)
  • Requires 20-30% of dry ice (solid carbon dioxide)
  • Gets the last of the goodness from your trimmed leaves

How the Triminator Extraction Tumbler Kit Works

The Triminator Dry makes short work out of of trimming dry product. Once you've collected the premium parts, you'll be left with a lot of leafy waste in the collection box below which still has lots of goodness attached. Instead of discarding it, the Triminator can be quickly and easily converted into an extraction machine by replacing the drum. The Triminator is then half-filled with a 70/30 or 80/20 mixture of leaves and finely crushed dry ice (the solid carbon form of carbon dioxide). The leaf collection box is replaced with a flat, lipped collection tray.

It then takes about ten minutes for the dry ice to chill the leaves. Dry ice is very, very cold (-78”C / -109°F or lower). When the leaves have been fully chilled by the dry ice, the oils on the leaves becomes brittle, which allows them to be easily broken off from the leaves and collected during the next stage.

After the ten minute chilling period is over, the Triminator can be switched on. The tumbling action of the Triminator causes the highly chilled oils to break away from the leaves and then fall through the 150 micron mesh screen around the drum. The mesh screen allows the oils to fall through but retains the leaf material. The is then collected in the tray below. This process takes another ten minutes. With all the goodness extracted, the completely spent leaves can now be disposed of.

If preferred, two grades of quality can be extracted from the leaves. Just run the Triminator for five minutes, empty the tray and run it for another five minutes.

How to Use the Triminator Extraction Kit

After trimming the leaves off your premium product, remove the leaf collection box by sliding forwards and out. Slide the collection tray in. Put the barrel of the Triminator into the vertical position. Remove the trimming drum by lifting it out. Remove the shear band from the fingers on both sides of the machine. Wrap the upper shear band holder tight to the ratchet bar and secure it with the velcro.

Important: if the shear band holder is not kept away from the drum, it may cause damage to the mesh.

Carefully put the mesh drum inside the barrel of the machine and secure it. Return the drum to the horizontal position.

Mix the leaves with 20-30% of pelletised or finely crushed dry ice. Large blocks of ice will damage the fine mesh screen. Always wear heavy-duty gloves and eye protection when handling dry ice.

Important: dry ice is so cold that it can quickly damage any part of the body that it touches. Fill the drum to about half to three-quarters full with the mixture. Do not fill it more than this or the extraction will be poor and will take longer. Leave the mixture of leaves and dry ice for ten minutes to allow the dry ice to make the leaves really cold.

Turn the Triminator on for approximately ten minutes, the rolling action of the drum will break the cold and brittle oils off the leaves. The oils will fall through the fine mesh and into the tray below. Use the supplied brush to brush any oil crystals off the inside ledges holding the tray before removing it.

If preferred, two grades of quality can be extracted from the leaves. Just run the Triminator for five minutes, empty the tray and run it for another five minutes.

After use, keep the Triminator in the horizontal position and carefully remove the drum. Use the brush to carefully remove any oils from the inside and outside of the drum and into the tray.
