How the Sunlight Supply Irradiator Air-Cooled Reflector Works:
The Irradiator is a prestige reflector with a very affordable pricetag. It comes with a 150mm (6 inch) flange at each end for the fitting of ducting, so that hot air can be moved away from the grow area, allowing you to keep temperatures down, producing happier, healthier plants (or allowing you to use a more powerful lamp than is generally used for the particular area size that you are working in). The Irradiator has an amazingly reflective dimpled aluminium surface along with reflective closed-ends to reflect as much light as possible straight downwards towards your plants. The Irradiator gives amazingly even light-spread in a 1.2m square grow-tent. The outer casing is manufactured from steel and powder coated to preserve its integrity and the construction is second to none. There simply isn’t a better air-cooled in this price range.
How to Use the Sunlight Supply Irradiator:
Please consult the supplied instruction sheet. A copy of the spec sheet and a technical guide are included in the attachments tab just above this description.
The Irradiator is designed for use with any horizontally mounted HPS or MH lamp. Simply hang the reflector over the centre of the grow-space at an appropriate height using easy rolls or jack chain. Holding your lamp with a clean cloth insert it into the E40 bulb-holder and screw it in firmly. A duct fan can be connected to one of the flanges on the reflector to remove hot air from the grow area. We recommend pushing air through the reflector using your duct fan.
Plug the lead into an appropriate ballast for HPS/MH type bulbs or an IEE (kettle type) mains lead for fluorescent type bulbs and switch on. Please note that your extraction fan MUST be running while the lamp is being used.
Warning: When HID lamps are switched on they run extremely hot. As with all high pressure sodium and metal halide bulbs it is necessary to avoid touching the lamp with anything such as fingers or plants as this may cause severe burns or fires. In particular avoid sprays or liquids coming into contact with the lamp as this may cause premature failure or even an explosion.
