How the Superbright Ballast Works:
The Superbright ballast converts mains electricity to the correct voltage and current to start-up and power a 315w CDM lamp using a microprocessor to constantly monitor and control a digital power-output system. Digital Ballasts produce 30% more lumen output than their magnetic counterparts, use less electricity and do not degrade with age like core and coil type ballasts which become noisy, use more electricity and produce less lumens as they get older.
The Superbright ballast also comes with a list of features for better safety and performance:
Ignition Control prevents power surges and spikes. It works by striking one lamp at a time when multiple units are connected to the mains circuit.
Intelligent Circuit Protection – when lamps are ignited, the ballast performs a three second test of the circuit. If there’s a fault it will automatically go into protection mode, keeping your grow room safe and preserving your peace of mind.
Automatic Frequency Adjustment – the Superbright ballast automatically adjusts its frequency to maintain a constant light output, regardless of input fluctuations.
Soft Start Technology – this feature extends your lamp’s lifespan by reducing the current rush to the lamp. Full brightness is reached around 3-5 minutes after switching.
Restrike After Mains Failure – this prevents lamps from being re-struck while they’re still too hot.
RF Shielding – with total harmonic distortion levels of less than 10%, this prevents interference with TV or Radio equipment.

How to Use the Superbright Ballast:
Although the Superbright ballast runs fairly cool in use, it should still be located on a flat, firm, surface (not carpet) and in a well-ventilated location. It should never be covered and there should be no combustible items in the vicinity just in case. Connect the input lead of your reflector to the output lead of the ballast ensuring the cable is not pulled tight and does not come into contact with anything hot (e.g. lamp, reflector, ballast). Ensure your lamp is tightly screwed into the bulb-holder and that your reflector is at the correct height.
It’s as simple as connect the mains plug into an electrical outlet socket and switch on. The ballast will start-up and light the lamp.
In the event of a fault, e.g. a faulty lamp or high ballast temperature, the ballast will go into protection mode. Once the problem has been rectified, the ballast can be restarted by pressing the reset button.
