How the G-Spot Reflector Works:
The G-Spot reflector will help you to get the best out of your Adjusta-Watt e-Lite ballast and Sol Digital 1000w double ended lamp. Its miro aluminium is highly reflective and its compact size ensures that the light from your lamp travels no further than it needs to, increasing intensity and enhancing yields. These reflectors are based around a design that’s used in the professional horticultural industry, where tiny percentages count.
How to Use the G-Spot Reflector:
The connector on the G-Spot reflector is designed for use with the Adjusta-Watt e-Lite digital ballast. It is not intended for use with ballasts that plug into reflectors via IEC or Weiland connectors.
Set-up of a 400v system is the same as a typical 240w set-up (except the lamp fits in to the reflector slightly differently). With the power turned off at the wall, install your lamp by fitting the wires into the slots either side of the reflector, then move the sliders down to seal the lamp in place. Use a clean cloth to handle the lamp to avoid leaving fingerprints, reducing its effectiveness. Note the image above, which shows you which way to install the lamp. The side with the little metal tag goes closest to the reflector cable.
Plug the reflector cable into the ballast and plug the ballast into a wall socket. You’re probably going to want to run it on a timer. If this is the case, never plug it into the timer directly, but plug it into a timer via a contactor instead.
Warning: When HID lamps are switched on they run extremely hot. As with all high-pressure sodium and metal halide bulbs it is necessary to avoid touching the lamp with anything such as fingers or plants as this may cause severe burns or fires. In particular, avoid sprays or liquids coming into contact with the lamp as this may cause premature failure or even an explosion.
