How the SMSCom Temperature Protect Works:
The SMSCom Temperature Protect is a plug-in unit which can switch mains electricity. The Themostat unit (included) on a 2.8m plug-in lead has a control which can be set anywhere between 0C and 40C. When the set temperature is reached, the thermostat tells the plug-in switch unit to off turn the electricity feed. Once tripped "off", the reset button on the plug-in switch must be pressed in order to restore the power. The unit does NOT automatically switch the electricity back on once the temperaure has dropped below the set temperature.
The unit can safely switch up 16 amps (3200 watts).
How to Use the SMSCom Temperature Protect:
Plug the SMSCom Temperature Protect into a mains outlet socket. Plug the Thermostat unit into it via the 3.5mm socket located on the bottom of switch unit. Place the thermostat in the location where you need it to sense the temperature. A generous 2.8m lead is provided for good freedom of placement. Set the temperature (in Centigrade) on the thermostat at which you want the electricity to switch off.
Plug the equipment you wish to control into the mains socket under the flap on the front of the switch unit. Make sure that the switch your mains wall socket is switched on and press the "reset" button. As long as the temperature around the SMSCom thermostat is below the temperature that you have set on it then the electricity to your controlled equipment will switch on. Power being fed to your equipment is indicated by the red "Power" indicator on the front of the unit.
In the event that the temperature around the SMSCom thermostat reaches the set level then the Temperature Protect will turn off the electricity to your controlled equipment and the red "Power" indicator on the front of the unit will go out.
The SMSCom Temperature Protect does NOT automatically switch the electricity back on when the temperature goes back below the set level. The unit will remain switched off until the user presses the "Reset" button on the front of the unit.
