Smart Pot (3.8-26 Litre)
Premium Grade Fabric Containers
Huge numbers of growers are experiencing the benefits of switching to root-pruning fabric containers. There are a few different choices out there, but for the true connoisseur there's really nothing quite like a Smart Pot. These soft fabric containers are manufactured to the highest standards and will last for years. Naturally, they allow for lots of aeration and will air-prune your plant's roots to create a dense radial root system.
- The toughest fabric container out there
- Uses "air-pruning" effect to encourage a dense and fibrous radial root system
- Effectively eliminates root circling around the sides of the pot
- Makes the most of the container size you use
- Reduces the time it takes to develop a thick root system
- Helps to create a root-system that is not possible in conventional pots
- Made using soft fabric
- Allows root aeration
- Can be folded flat for storage

How Smart Pots Work:
Smart Pots are patented growing containers made of high-quality fabric which allows air to pass through, aerating plant roots and "air-pruning" them when they hit the sides/bottom of the pot. In a conventional pot, roots grow outwards from the plant and when they hit the side-wall they begin to spiral around it. This process is relatively inefficient as the root-system ends up being densest around the outside of the pot leaving much of the soil within the container devoid of any roots. Smart Pots work in a very different way. Roots begin growing out from the plant as in a normal pot but when the roots try to grow through the fabric side or bottom they are "air-pruned". This causes the plant to send out more and more root-shoots which fill out the soil with a full and dense root-system.
How to use the Smart Pot:
Simply fill the Smart Pot with your favourite soil or soilless mix and place it where it is going to be used. Transfer your plant into it and water slowly and thoroughly. Remember that Smart Pots are not rigid, so once a plant is growing in one be extra gentle and careful when moving it around to avoid disturbing or damaging the root-mass. Ideally, once a plant is in a Smart Pot, leave it where it is as much as possible!
Smart Pots offer an advanced way of growing using a traditional medium. Bigger and thicker root-systems are certain compared to a similarly sized traditional pot. In turn, bigger root-systems lead to healthier plants and bigger yields. Highly recommended!
