RVK Fan, 50mm Depth CarboAir & Acoustic Ducting Extraction Kit
The Incredible Reliability of RVK, the Ultimate Filtration of CarboAir and the Silencing of Acoustic Ducting Combined
The RVK has been the stable work horse of grow room extraction for a long time, it's tried and tested design delivers excellent performance and reliability. This complete extraction kit is everything you need to keep your grow room cool and replenish the air to your plants. You have a choice of fan size which come with a perfectly matched CarboAir filter, for more information about how much air the fans move and suggested RVK and grow room size pairings check out the description below. This kit also comes with acoustic ducting to minimise wind noise!
Until now carbon filter manufacturers have given you the choice between filters which either massively stifle your fan or inefficiently remove smells. The included CarboAir filters cater for the pro grower, offering coarser, higher quality carbon. This not only allows incredible air flow, it removes any possible traces of smells. Alongside this ultimate duo you will receive Acoustic Ducting, insulation lined to remove any excess air movement noise from your extraction set up.

Which size kit do I need for my Grow Tent?
There exists a (relatively) easy formula to work out which size extraction you need for your space, find out the volume in m3 (meters cubed) of your grow space with Width x Length x Height = Volume. Then, using that figure, do, Volume x 60 = Air Movement Per Hour (this will refresh the air in your grow room every minute).
Use the figures below to match up your space to an RVK kit! Bear in mind it's always better to over spec your fan and reduce its output with a controller, this gives you the flexibility to increase it's output to maintain optimum conditions for your plants, for example in the middle of summer.
4" (100mm) 184m3/hr (RVK A1) with 100mm/330mm CarboAir Filter (138m3/hr airflow with filter)
5" (125mm) 220m3/hr (RVK A1) with 125mm/330mm CarboAir Filter (160m3/hr airflow with filter)
5" (125mm) 323m3/hr (RVK L1) with 125mm/330mm CarboAir Filter (240m3/hr airflow with filter)
6" (150mm) 482m3/hr (RVK A1) with 150mm/330mm CarboAir Filter (330m3/hr airflow with filter)
8" (200mm) 796m3/hr (RVK A1) with 200mm/500mm CarboAir Filter (705m3/hr airflow with filter)
10" (250mm) 860m3/hr (RVK A1) with 250mm/500mm CarboAir Filter (730m3/hr airflow with filter)
12" (315mm) 1361m3/hr (RVK A1) with 315mm/500mm CarboAir Filter (1125m3/hr airflow with filter)
How the RVK Sileo Fan, CarboAir & Acoustic Ducting Extraction Kit works:
Our RVK & CarboAir Extraction Kit contains everything you need to remove stale air and odours from a grow-space. All the parts are top quality and matched to work together perfectly. Systemair RVK fans are notoriously well-made and reliable and CarboAir filters offer unrivaled filtration and maximum airflow. A fast clamp makes easy work of joining the fan and filter together while 5 metres of acoustic ducting and a duct clip allow you to vent to a convenient outlet. A power cable with a moulded mains plug for the extraction fan completes the set-up.
How to use the RVK Sileo Fan, CarboAir & Acoustic Ducting Extraction Kit
The mains cable should be wired into the fan by an electrically competent person. For RVK fans, follow the wiring diagram on the case moulding, do not match up the wire colours to the wires inside as they follow the European wiring code.
The intake side of the fan and the filter are joined together using the fast clamp. They can then be hung inside your grow-tent or grow-room (fixings are not supplied but bungee cords are a great way to keep fan-noise as low as possible).
Because warm air rises it always is a good idea to try to mount the fan and filter as high as possible in the grow-space.
Do not under any circumstances put your fingers into the spinning blades of a fan, especially an in-line type. Even a small fan has enough power to cause severe injury and loss of fingers. Just don’t do it, no matter how tempted you are.
Keep ducting runs as short as possible as every metre of ducting reduces the flow-rate that the fan can achieve. The more ducting attached, the lower the air-flow. Bear in mind that a carbon filter will reduce the air-flow that your fan can achieve by about 25% just on it’s own. When turning a corner with ducting try to create a swept bend rather than a sharp knee as this will reduce air-flow by the least amount and also help to keep wind-noise down. To further keep wind-noise down to a minimum, stretch flexi-ducting out as much as possible or use acoustic ducting.
Moisture degrades the performance of carbon filters. High humidity makes them ineffective at eliminating smells and reduces the expected life-span by a significant amount. Try to keep humidity at a reasonable level (between 40% and 60%) and both your carbon filter and your plants will benefit.
