How the Revolution DEva 1000w HPS Grow Light works:
Like many new ballasts on the market the Revolution DEva utilizes the new and improved 400 volt power system. The 400v system is more efficient over the standard 230v systems. However, what really sets the Revolution DEva apart from other 400v grow lights is that the ballast produces a low frequency (rather than a high frequency) square wave which runs the lamp more smoothly, thereby protracting its lifespan. Also, because of this technology both the ballast and the lamp run more efficiently - keeping your yield per watt as high as possible.
As the lamp gets powered more smoothly and efficiently it maintains a steadier arc tube of plasma, this along with constant temperature regulation results in a better colour spectrum from the lamp itself . With a superior spectrum of light being emitted, your plants will benefit as will your yields. It's not just the lamp performance that sets the Revolution Deva apart, it's also the high end build quality. Each component has been sourced for precision, from the avionic-grade capacitors to the 97% reflective in-built German MIRO reflector. For total grow room control the Revolution RLC1 Digital Lighting Controller (sold separately) can be connected with ease using the supplied connection cable. Connecting the highly advanced RLC-1 allows you control over your lighting regime and will also dim your light(s) in 1% decrements should your grow room go over-temperature.

The above graph shows the spectral output of the Revolution DEva 1000w Double Ended HPS at full 1000w of power, notice the intense yellow and orange in the output waves excellent for flowering plants. The grey line at the top of the graph shows the McCree curve, which demonstrates wavelengths of light plants actually use and how much relative photosynthesis is produced by each wavelength. The Revolution DEva does incredibly well on the McCree scale when you understand this grow light is geared towards the flowering/fruiting end of the spectrum. This graph shows the lighting foot print of the Revolution DEva 1000w Double Ended HPS at a height of 830mm. Notice how even the spread of light is at 830mm above the canopy. The Revolution DEva was tested in a 1.5 metre x 1.5 metre area which it illuminates very well. We would recommend the Revolution DEva 1000w Double Ended HPS to cover this size area of growing space or in a 1.5m x 1.5m x 2.2m grow tent. We recommend it is hung at a height of 800 - 900mm above the canopy for best intensity and coverage. This height will ensure the best intensity of light at the sides and in the corners whilst minimising hotspots in the centre.
How to use the Revolution DEva 1000w HPS:
Mount the unit in the required position in your grow room and set it well above the canopy (recommended 800mm-900mm). We stock a range of hanging equipment for this purpose. The Revolution DEva is very powerful and extra care should be taken when deciding how high from the canopy it needs to be fitted. At heights below 700mm there is a risk of bleaching or burning your plants. Once it is installed switch the unit on and then select the power output (600w, 750w, 1000w or 1150w).
Warning 1: When it is time to change out the lamp, make sure that it is replaced with another 400 volt / 1000 watt double ended HPS lamp. Using a standard HPS lamp in a 400 volt lighting system will possibly cause damage, explosions or fire. To replace the lamp first disconnect the power cable and make sure the DEva has been off for long enough for the lamp to be cold to the touch. Slide out the black lamp holders at both ends of the lamp, this will release the lamp from its holder and allow it to be removed. You'll notice a little square tab inside the lamp (as shown in the image above). Make sure that this tab is located closest to the ballast. Fit a new 400 volt / 1000 watt double ended HPS lamp making sure that the wires at each end are kept straight and located snugly within the channels in the holders. Finally, slide the black lamp holder clips over the ends of the lamp to keep it in place.
Warning 2: When HID lamps are switched on they run extremely hot. As with all high pressure sodium and metal halide bulbs it is necessary to avoid touching the lamp with anything such as fingers or plants as this may cause severe burns or fires. In particular, avoid sprays or liquids coming into contact with the lamp as this may cause premature failure or even an explosion.
