Plant Magic Plus Peat Plugs Tray of 84
Plant Magic Plus Peat Plugs - Tray of 84
Peat plugs are ideal for the propagation of plants raised from cuttings and seeds. A special mix of compost is used to produce Peat Plugs. The manufacturing process ensures that the peat growing media has the optimum moisture content and airy structure allowing additional oxygen to the newly developing roots. Once the roots appear the new plants can be easily handled without disturbing the surrounding plants.

How Plant Magic Plus Peat Plugs Work:
Peat Plugs are individually wrapped and ideal for propagation. Each one is uniformly designed to provide an identical growing environment for seedlings or cuttings leading to consistent growth from each plant. The plugs' compost composition is lightly packed to give the roots unimpeded access to oxygen stimulating nutrient absorpsion and reducing rooting time. Plant Magic Peat Plugs have been manufactured with environmentally friendly paper with no need for hours of pre-soaking and the lightwight tray has been designed to fit into standard sized propagators. Collectively all of these factors result in a straightforward and easy process where the newly rooted plant can be planted into larger pots or straight into the ground without causing unwanted stress.
How to use this Product:
Cuttings can then be placed directly into the peat plugs. Seeds can be dropped in to start them off. Once your cuttings are rooted through they can be transferred into soil, coco or other growing media. The tray of 84 plugs allows up to 84 cuttings or seeds to be propagated at the same time.
Comprehensive instructions about how to take cuttings can be found in various places on the internet. Here is a short guide: Place the tray of peat plugs into the bottom of a propagator. Choose healthy shoots with thick stems from which to take your cuttings and make the last cut with a sterile scalpel. Dip the cut end into a rooting gel such as Clonex and then place the end of the cutting into one of the rooting plugs. When you have finished taking your cuttings, put the lid on your propagator and move to a mild environment a few inches underneath a grow-lamp. Keep the rooting plugs moist and mist your cuttings 2-3 times a day. After a few days, when roots begin to appear on the outside of the cubes, open up the ventilation slots on the lid of your propagator to reduce humidity. When your cuttings have completely rooted through the plugs, they can then be placed in soil or a hydroponics system to grow further.
