How the Nutriculture Amazon 4-Pot Aeroponic System Works:
The Nutriculture Amazon 4-Pot Aeroponic System is a medium-sized, stand-alone aeroponic system that's ideal for growing up to 4 plants. Nutrient solution is stored in the Bottom Reservoir Tank and your plants are grown from small net-pots suspended above in a large grow-chamber. Nutrient solution from the bottom reservoir is pumped up to 4 sprinkler heads in the grow-chamber. The powerful pump forces the nutrient solution into the sprinkler heads which turn the liquid into a “fog" with a very fine droplet size. The mist is so highly oxygenated that the plant-roots begin to grow from the net-pot out into the mist in the grow-chamber at a very high rate. The roots quite literally grow into air!
The constantly refreshed mist is so highly aerated that plant-roots grow at an incredible speed. As the mist condenses back into liquid, it is returned back to the reservoir ready to be used again. A filter on the pump intake prevents particles from reaching and blocking the sprinkler heads. And a correx cover over the access panel of the reservoir helps prevent contamination of the nutrient solution by dust, reduces evaporation and stops algal growth.
Using the Nutriculture Amazon 4-Pot Aeroponic System:
Plants or cuttings should be root-bound into small net-pots before going into the Amazon Aeroponic system. The Nutriculture Amazon 4-Pot Aeroponic Kit is great system for growing up to 4 plants. Unused net-pot locations in the Lid-cover can and should be covered over to prevent the fog escaping from the holes. To set the system up, place the bottom reservoir in it's location in your garden and fill it with water up to the fill-line (approximately 100 litres). Make up your nutrient solution according to your normal feeding schedule and mix well. Adjust the pH if necessary.
Place the Grow-chamber Tray onto the top of the reservoir. Unfold the delivery-pipe assemblies and place in the bottom of the Grow-chamber Tray so that the pipes for the pump drop through the hole and into the reservoir. The bottom of the Grow-chamber Tray has ridges that the delivery pipe sits in. Fit the filter to the pump inlet and attach the foot and suction-cups to the bottom. Very firmly push the pump onto the end of the splitter from underneath so that the pump sits in the reservoir. It may take quite a push to fit the pump securely. The four rubber suction cups on the pump will secure it to the bottom of the reservoir. Place the correx access-hole cover over the reservoir access gap. This prevents light from causing algae to grow in the reservoir, reduces evaporation and stops the nutrient solution from becoming contaminated with dust etc.
Place the Lid-covers onto the Grow-chamber Trays and put your plants in their net-pots into the holes in the lid-cover. If you are not using all the holes then they should be covered over with black tape or pieces of correx cut to size and taped over the holes. Plants should have roots exposed on the outside of the net-pots before being introduced to the Amazon.
Switch the pump on and leave it running. There is no need to have timed feeding cycles as aeroponics provides the ideal amount of water and air for your plants continuously. Because of the amazing rate of growth, plants generally use a lot more water and nutrient when grown in an aeroponics system than with any other type of system. Because of this it is wise to make regular checks on the reservoir level.
