Maxibright Focus Remote 315w CDM Grow Light Kit
Also available as a full fixture kit: Maxibright Focus Connect 315w CDM Grow Light Kit
Intense Full Spectrum CDM Lighting Designed for a 1.2m x 1.2m Space
The Maxibright Focus Remote has been designed to bathe your canopy in an intense full spectrum light, giving you strong healthy plants that deliver huge, incredible tasting fruits and crops. The remote version of the Focus lighting system separates your ballast from the reflector, allowing you to place it away from your growing area. It's reflector has been designed to give an incredibly even 1.2m x 1.2m footprint pushing every bit of goodness from your included Philips CDM lamp on to your plants.
You can choose from the two best CDM ballasts out there: the Maxibright Daylight and the Sol-Digital SuperBRIGHT. They will drive the supplied Philips lamp efficiently and effectively, and come with an array of features. For us, the Sol-Digital just pips it as the better ballast (due to it having a couple of extra features), but it's a close call.

How the Maxibright Focus Remote 315w CDM Grow Light Kit Works:
CDM lamps produce an incredibly intense full spectrum light that plants love, so which lamp should I use?
Philips GreenPower 930 Elite Agro CDM Lamp
The 315w Philips GreenPower 930 Elite Agro CDM Lamp is perfect for flowering/fruiting as it has a very high PPF (photosynthetic photon flux) which a way of quantifying the amount of light that plants can actually use.
Philips MasterColour 942 Daylight CDM Lamp
We recommend using the The Philips MasterColour 942 Daylight CDM Lamp during veg growth which gives off a crisp white light, producing an amazing rate of growth, good branching and very short internode length.
The black line in the graphs above represents the "McCree Curve", which gives a relative indication of how efficiently a plant uses the different colours in the light spectrum to photosynthesise with.

The Focus Remote reflector has been specifically designed to deliver an even, square spread of high intensity light down to your canopy, it's incredibly well designed, and offers one of the best 'light on target' ratings of any competitive reflector, rivalling that of even the Sunlight Supply LEC but at a lower cost.
We offer a choice between the Maxibright Daylight and the Sol-Digital SuperBRIGHT ballast. Both are excellent ballasts that will drive Philips CDM lamps efficiently and effectively, but the Sol-Digital ballast comes with some interesting features that give it the edge, including ignition control, which prevents surges and spikes, and automatic frequency adjustment, which maintains a constant output from the lamp during input power fluctuations. Both feature soft start technology, to reduce inrush current, and intelligent circuit protection to keep your grow room safe and give you peace of mind. You won’t go wrong with either.
How to use the Maxibright Focus Remote 315w CDM Grow Light Kit:
Simply hang the reflector and lamp inserted over the centre of the grow-space at an appropriate height using easy rolls, rope ratchet hangers or jack chain. Always screw the lamp into the lamp-holder in your reflector as tightly as possible by gripping the lamp with a clean, dry cloth. If the lamp is not screwed in as tightly as possible, arcing can occur between the centre contact of the lamp and the lamp-holder. This melts the solder contact on the bottom of the lamp, causing damage and making it un-usable. Make sure that the lamp is clean and completely free of fingerprints and other contaminants.
Connect the input lead of your reflector to the output lead of the ballast ensuring the cable is not pulled tight and does not encounter anything hot (e.g. lamp, reflector, ballast).
The wattage of your ballast MUST match the wattage of the lamp you are using or there will be a high risk of fires or equipment damage. Only use the Focus Connect ballast that comes with this kit for firing up the CDM lamps. Never use a HPS or MH ballast with CDM lamps. Connect the mains plug into an electrical outlet socket and switch on. The ballast will start-up and light the lamp.
PLEASE NOTE: The 315w CDM lamps need to be bedded in as follows: on first illumination the lamp needs to be run continuously for a minimum of 15 minutes. This will allow the metals within the lamp to fuse correctly.
FAILURE TO DO THIS WILL RESULT IN LAMP FAILURE!
If the above is not adhered to, lamp warranty claims will be void.
Warning: When CDM HID (High Intensity Discharge) lamps are switched on they run extremely hot. As with all HID lamps it is necessary to avoid touching the lamp with anything such as fingers or plants as this may cause severe burns or fires. In particular, avoid sprays or liquids coming into contact with the lamp as this may cause premature failure or even an explosion.
