How the Air-Cooled Supernova Reflector Works:
The Air-cooled Supernova Reflector is the logical choice for growers looking for a quality air-cooled reflector without breaking the bank. The Air-cooled Supernova Reflector is very similar to the standard Maxibright Supernova Reflector but it has a 6-inch (150mm) flange at each end for the fitting of ducting. A mounting frame is included for the 4mm thick toughened glass (also included). The Air-cooled Supernova reflector has a highly reflective dimpled surface in a double-parabolic shape along with reflective closed-ends to reflect as much light as possible straight downwards towards your plants. The Air-cooled Supernova reflector is made with quality materials and the construction is excellent. The Air-cooled Supernova Reflector has been highly popular with growers for years and will give significantly better results than a standard Euro Reflector.
How to Use the Air-Cooled Supernova Reflector:
The Air-cooled Supernova Reflector is designed for use with any HPS or MH lamp. Simply hang the reflector over the centre of the grow-space at an appropriate height using easy rolls or jack chain. Holding your lamp with a clean cloth insert it into the E40 bulb-holder in the Air-cooled Supernova Reflector and screw it in very firmly. Plug the lead into an appropriate ballast for HPS/MH type bulbs or an IEE (kettle type) mains lead for fluorescent type bulbs and switch on. The Air-cooled Supernova can be used as a standard non-air-cooled reflector as long as glass is not fitted. To air-cool your supernova reflector, an extraction fan (6-inch / 150mm recommended) should be connected to one flange on the reflector via 6-inch (150mm) ducting. The other 6-inch (150mm) flange can be run to a fresh-air intake or hot-air exhaust via 6-inch (150mm) ducting.
Warning: When HID lamps are switched on they run extremely hot. As with all high pressure sodium and metal halide bulbs it is necessary to avoid touching the lamp with anything such as fingers or plants as this may cause severe burns or fires. In particular avoid sprays or liquids coming into contact with the lamp as this may cause premature failure or even an explosion.
