How the Digilight Pro Works:

The Maxibright 400 Watt Digilight Pro Digital Variable Output Ballast converts mains electricity to the correct voltage and current to start-up and power a 400 Watt HPS lamp by using a microprocessor to constantly monitor and control a digital power-output system. Digital Ballasts produce more lumen output and use less electricity than the traditional core and coil type ballasts. Digital ballasts do not degrade over time like core and coil type ballasts which become noisy, use more electricity and produce less lumens as they get older. The Maxibright Digilight Pro Variable output ballast is RF shielded and features low start-up current due to it's Soft-start technology. This means more than one Maxibright Digilight Pro Ballast can be started at the same time without tripping your electrical breakers. Maxibright are a highly thought of brand in the horticultural lighting industry and this product is high quality as you would expect.

This Maxibright Digilight Ballast has a variable-output switch allowing 400 Watt HPS lamps to be operated at 250W, 275W, 400W or Super Lumen (440W). 250 Watt HPS lamps can be used normally at 250W or boosted up to 275W.

MH lamps should only ever be run at their rated wattage.

How to Use the Digilight Pro:

The Maxibright 400 Watt Digilight Pro Digital Variable Output Ballast runs warm in use and should be located on a flat, firm, surface (not carpet) in a well ventilated place. The Maxibright Digilight Pro 400 Watt HPS Ballast should never be covered and there should be no combustible items in the vicinity. Connect the input lead of your reflector to the output lead of the ballast ensuring the cable is not pulled tight and does not come into contact with anything hot (e.g. lamp, reflector, ballast). Ensure your lamp is tightly screwed into the bulb-holder and that your reflector is at the correct height. Connect the mains plug into an electrical outlet socket and switch on. The ballast will start-up and light the lamp. Please note that in the event of an interruption to the mains supply, the lamp should not be restarted until it has cooled back down.

This Maxibright Digilight Ballast features a variable-output switch which has 4 position settings: 250W, 275W, 400W and Super Lumen (440W). This Maxibright Ballast will power a 250 Watt HPS Lamp when set to the 250W or the 275W setting. For 400 Watt lamps the 250W or 275W settings can be used for dimming the lamp. The 400W settings is for running a 400W lamp normally or the Super Lumen (440W) setting can be used . The “Super Lumens” setting increases the lumen output of your lamp by 10% thereby increasing yields and/or extend the life of an aging lamp

PLEASE NOTE: Maxibright recommend this ballast for use with HPS and MH lamps. However, MH lamps should ONLY be run on the normal setting (i.e. 400W for a 400 watt lamp and 250W for a 250 watt lamp). MH lamps should NEVER be boosted or dimmed by running them on a different power setting than the rated wattage printed on the lamp.
