How to Use the LUMii Bright LED:
The LUMii Bright LED is a full-spectrum light that comes in at a low price. It will do a great job of illuminating a 60cm x 60cm grow space, so it's perfect for cupboard growers with limited room. Better yet, you can daisy-chain multiple units together to cover a larger area: four or five of these lighting systems will do a great job of lighting a 1.2m x 1.2m space. It runs nice and cool, so excess heat won't be a problem in the way that it can be when running HID (high intensity discharge) systems. This will make the environment in your grow area easier to control, and it will also lower fan noise by reducing the level of airflow needed to keep temps optimal. Perfect for growers looking to keep things as discreet as possible.
As you may be aware, we test every product rigorously before we make a decision to stock it, and the LUMii Bright LED was no different. Testing reveals that this unit lives up to its name as a full-spectrum light, filling out the red areas, with a healthy dose of blue in there, too. Because it's heavier in the red areas, it's tuned more towards flowering, but it will still get the job done nicely during the vegetative stages. The presense of a healthy level of blue light will help to keep internodal lengths down, for stockier, bushier plants and a more productive indoor garden with better use of space.
Intensity readings show that the LUMii Bright delivers 500 μmol of plant-useable light at 35cm in height (directly underneath), and it produces 300 μmol from 50cm away. With a 100w power consumption rate, it's never going to be quite as bright as larger units that use four or five times the energy, but for its power draw, it certainly punches above its weight!
How to Use the LUMii Bright LED:
Using the LUMii Bright LED is pretty simple. Just hang the unit (we recommend Rope Ratchets), connect up the power lead and switch it on at the mains. For most garden aplications, you're going to need a way to switch it on and off at regular intervals. Because it only draws 100 watts of power, it's fine to use with most standard timers, though we'd recommend running it with a LUMii Heavy-Duty Timer to be on the safe side.
To daisy-chain these units together, connect the first unit to the power using the IEC kettle lead (female to 3-pin plug). You can then connect the next light in the chain using a 'male to female' IEC cable (not supplied).
