How Humboldt Nutrients - Mayan MicroZyme works:
Humboldt Nutrients - Mayan MicroZyme is a concentrated mixture of 2 of the most powerful friendly bacteria found in soils: Azobacter Vinelandii and Clostridium Pasteurianum. Together, these bacteria will produce and regulate (fix) nitrogen, build up organic matter making the medium more fertile and also increase nutrient availability and uptake leading to a thriving plant and an increased yield come harvest-time. The colony-forming units are dormant and micro-encapsulated in the bottle which gives the grower a long-shelf life. Before use, the bacteria need to be "woken-up" by the fermentation process described below which frees the bacteria from their micro-encasulation and makes them active. Humboldt Nutrients - Honey ES is ideal for assisting with this process.

Humboldt Nutrients - Mayan MicroZyme is for use with plants grown in any medium and in any type of grow although it is best used in a hand-watering or drain-to-waste system. Mayan MicroZyme is mainly used during the vegetative cycle and the first 2-6 weeks (depending on feeding schedule) of flowering to build an extensive and effective root-system ready for heavy blossoming. Mayan MicroZyme should be activated and fermented by the process described below before use.
The water that you begin with can have a large impact on your results. Humboldt nutrients recommend un-chlorinated water which is oxygenated before and during use. To achieve this, Humboldt Nutrients themselves use Reverse Osmosis water which has been "bubbled" well with an airpump and airstone before use.
Here is a guideline to begin the activation process to effectively brew 1 gallon (4.5 Litres) of Mayan MicroZyme additive: Take a large container such as a 10 Litre bucket, compost brewer or reservoir and fill with 4.5 Litres of un-chlorinated water. This could be bottled water or reverse osmosis water. Any chlorine in the water will severely inhibit or kill the friendly bacteria in Mayan MicroZyme. Use a small airpump, airline and airstone to constantly aerate and agitate the water. The optimum temperature of the water for the activation process is 27C (80F). If the water is too cold then it may take a long time time for the bacteria to activate and begin breeding. A small thermostatic reservoir or aquarium tank heater is a great way to keep the water at the right temperature.
Always shake the bottle well before use. Add 28ml of Mayan Microzyme to the water. Next add 5 Tablespoons (75ml) of Humboldt Nutrients Honey ES and mix well. The bubbling from the airstone should assist with the mixing process. Humboldt Nutrients Honey ES is especially good for feeding beneficial microbes and is ideal for the fermentation process. If it is not available, molasses or sugar will be adequate. Leave the airstone and the water heater in the container. Cover the container and leave to ferment for 3 to 7 days. Check the container regularly during this process and replace any water that has been lost by topping it back up to 4.5 litres. At the end of the 3-7 days, the brew will be ready for use.
The gallon (4.5 litres) of brew will treat up to 30 gallons (135 litres) of feed-water. Smaller batches of the brew can be made up by proportionally reducing the amounts of each of the ingredients (including the water). The brew can also be used as a foliar-spray. Simply fill your clean spray-gun with the mixture and thoroughly spray your plants from top to bottom ensuring no part is missed. Ensure that the topsides, and most importantly, the undersides of all leaves are wetted completely. As always with foliar sprays, only use in low light intensity conditions and ensure none gets on your grow-lamp. The ideal time to spray your plants is when your grow-lamp has just gone out for the dark-cycle. This allows time for the spray to be absorbed before the lamp comes back on, reducing the chance of foliar burns due to intense light hitting wet leaves.
As with all nutrients, boosters and additives, never mix them together in their concentrated form (i.e. straight out of the bottle). Always add each nutrient, booster or additive to your reservoir or feed water in turn, giving the solution a good stir to mix it in before adding the next one.
Always ensure that when hand-watering in soil or coco, you wet the medium thoroughly and achieve 10% – 20% run-off each time.
Humboldt Nutrients - Mayan MicroZyme dosage: 0.52 ml eventually treats 1 litre of feed-water or foliar-spray
