CDM fixtures (sometimes called CMH) produce spectrums that are much closer to natural sunlight than HPS lighting, delivering healthier plants and exceptional growth rates. How the Gavita Pro CDM Fixture Works

Take a look at the graphs below and you'll see that CDM lamps produce a broad spectrum that's much closer to natural sunlight than HPS lighting, which tends to be concentrated in the red areas. Full spectrum light has an array of advantages: the extra blue light helps to reduce stretching, shortening the length of each internode. With smaller gaps between each flowering site, you end up with denser flower clusters and, in turn, bigger yields. The full spectrum light from these Gavita fixtures also improves aromas and flavours by stimulating essential oil production, improving the equality of the end-product.

These fixtures are compatible with the EL1 and EL2 Master Controllers, allowing them to be regulated alongside your other Gavita lighting solutions. Lighting patterns for up to 80 units can be programmed from a central point, allowing you to ditch your contactor and timer. Master Controllers also come with a great safety feature that automatically switches lighting off if conditions become dangerously hot, giving you extra peace of mind if you're away from the grow space for prolonged periods.

How to use the Gavita Pro CDM Fixture

Simply hang the combined ballast & reflector over the centre of the grow-space at an appropriate height using easy rolls, rope ratchets or jack chain.  Run the lead from the reflector to a standard UK mains outlet or your contactor and switch on.

Gavita recommends that the reflector is changed regularly to maintain garden efficiency because the reflectivity of the surface does degrade a little over time. We would recommend every 1-2 years.

Warning: When HID lamps are switched on, they run extremely hot. Avoid touching the lamp with anything such as fingers or plants as this may cause severe burns or fires. In particular avoid sprays or liquids coming into contact with the lamp as this may cause premature failure or even an explosion.
