How the Dimlux Extreme Ballast Works:
The 230 volt Extreme Ballast converts mains electricity to the correct voltage and current to start-up and power 250w, 400w and 600w HPS and MH lamps, using a microprocessor to constantly monitor and control a digital power-output system. Digital Ballasts produce more lumen output, use less electricity and do not degrade with age like core and coil type ballasts which become noisy, use more electricity and produce less lumens as they get older.
The Extreme 600w Ballast features output settings of 250w, 400w, 600w and 660w, allowing you to tailor lighting to your plants’ exact needs at any given time. Better yet, you can connect this ballast quickly and easily to your Dimlux Maxi Controller and take advantage of the range of features that it has to offer - 160 of these ballasts can then be controlled from a central point.

How to Use the Dimlux Extreme Ballast:
Although the Dimlux Extreme Ballast runs fairly cool in use, it should still be located on a flat, firm, surface (not carpet) and in a well-ventilated location. The ballast has built-in fixtures so that it can be mounted to a wall. It should never be covered and there should be no combustible items in the vicinity, just in case. Connect the input lead of your reflector to the output lead of the ballast ensuring the cable is not pulled tight and does not come into contact with anything hot (e.g. lamp, reflector, ballast). Ensure your lamp is tightly screwed into the bulb-holder and that your reflector is at the correct height.
If you’re using this ballast in conjunction with a Maxi Controller, you can power it directly from a mains socket or use one of the following power distribution units:
If you’re not using a Maxi Controller to regulate on/off times, you’ll need to use this ballast in conjunction with a suitable contactor / timer.
