Professional Level, Full Spectrum CDM Lighting that's Compatible with the Gavita Master Controller
CDM fixtures produce spectrums that are much closer to natural sunlight than HPS lighting, delivering healthier plants and exceptional growth rates. Gavita Pro CDM fixtures combine these attributes with the build-quality and attention to detail that you'll find in all Gavita hardware. Not only that, these fixtures are compatible with EL1 and EL2 Master Controllers, allowing you to automate switching times and take advantage of an array of features.
How the Gavita Pro CDM Fixture Works
Take a look at the graphs below and you'll see that CDM lamps produce a broad spectrum that's much closer to natural sunlight than HPS lighting, which tends to be concentrated in the red areas. Full spectrum light has an array of advantages: the extra blue light helps to reduce stretching, shortening the length of each internode. With smaller gaps between each flowering site, you end up with denser flower clusters and, in turn, bigger yields. Full spectrum light also improves aromas and flavours by stimulating essential oil production, improving the equality of the end-product.

These fixtures are compatible with the EL1 and EL2 Master Controllers, allowing them to be regulated alongside your other Gavita lighting solutions. Lighting patterns for up to 80 units can be programmed from a central point, allowing you to ditch your contactor and timer. Master Controllers also come with a great safety feature that automatically switches lighting off if conditions become dangerously hot, giving you extra peace of mind if you're away from the grow space for prolonged periods.
Before you ever get to that stage, the Master Controller's Auto-Dim mode reduces lighting output levels whenever temperatures exceed your chosen setting. Unlike HPS lamps, though, CDM lamps cannot be dimmed without negatively impacting their output and reliability, as the gas inside needs to be maintained at the correct temperature. The 630e accounts for this fact by regulating its two 315w lamps separately. During a dimming event, one of the lamps is switched off in order to maintain temperatures. Gavita have even engineered this feature so that it alternates between the two lamps, so that one lamp doesn't wear out prematurely.
