Propagation & Cloning Liquids/Gels

When taking cuttings, the success rate of getting them to take root (the strike-rate) is increased markedly if a quality rooting gel (such as Clonex) is applied the bottom of the cutting when it is taken. The gel helps to seal the wound, it also contains ingredients which encourage the cutting to make roots, and it also helps against diseases such as "damping off" or stem rot. Once cuttings have rooted it is a good idea to use a gentle all-round nutrient such as Formulex. Nitrozyme is not a nutrient but with its special ingredients it can boost the overall health and vigour of freshly rooted cuttings.
